bush takes it on the chin

kerry just destroyed bush in the first of the presidential debates. at first kerry seemed pretty nervous, but after a few questions you could tell something clicked and he was like "man, this is too easy". bush was on the defensive almost 100% of the time and just kept repeating himself and making goofy faces. it was better than HBO boxing.

i think kerry's back in this game and i'm glad. cause he's actually pretty cool.

a few years ago, there used to be this hilarious website called "rebel-alliance". it's been dead for over a year now, but while it was still up i made pretty good friends with one of it's writers, matt (http://www.dumbjaw.com). we found that we were alike in a very creepy way. he's the only other person i know in the world besides my dad who has sleep-paralyzation on occasion. also, we share the same favorite poet, video games, music, etc.

catholic school ultimate

the past three days, every time i drive past that catholic school on Wynn Drive, they're outside playing ultimate. not just throwing the disc around, either. 7 on the line on both sides, raising their hands before the pull, running hard, etc. i've seen kids teaching the others how to throw a flick too.

looks like we've got some competition/help coming up in a few years!

the weather continues to be fuggen-a.

i couldn't sleep last night because i couldn't breathe. then, i wake up expecting to go to class, and be excused from work... but my breathing returns after being awake for about a half hour. i gots no proof.

The Exit In is a lot like Zydeco in terms of intimacy... except with a much better view and a much better bar. and much snottier nashville/vanderbilt hipsters. i dunno what's up with all the best shows around here being on weeknights. its obvious that only the very biggest bands play on weekends around here. so maybe one or two of these (at the most) will be caught. =(

my neighbor

oh yeah! my neighbor (which i posted about once before)made a very good attempt at making friends with me today. she talked to me pretty much the whole time that i was washing my car and even invited me over. i guess i'll go ahead and retract the bitch-call... but the noise complaint and subsequent tuesday-night party were still uncalled for.

i wonder if she overheard me through her open bedroom window (that i noticed a bit late) when we were all outside saturday night and i told steve which apartment belonged to the b-word. she has pretty much ignored me up until this afternoon, even when we are going into our apartments at the exact same time.

regardless of why she decided to pull the switcheroo, i'll be glad to have a few extra awkward moments removed from my life.



also, i'm considering tapping 2 TENBUCKS in order to bring out this and counter uncle r's che shirt.

man, i had a good time this weekend. if ivan wants to come back to huntsville and leave another weekend like this behind him, i say come back once a week. two of the most beautiful days i've seen this year back-to-back.

friday's poker game was a lot of fun... i really enjoy playing poker with everyone. it's becoming one of my favorite things to do. after geoff finished everyone off (again), we headed to the big V so I could collect on my birthday gift (thanks geoff).

however, the greatest thing about this weekend was the unbelievable weather saturday and sunday. wow. geoff and i managed to get in 28 holes at two different courses, while jason and steve went hardcore stylee and clocked in a record 46 holes on 3 different courses -- and *still* made it back in time to see the spectacular finish of the auburn vs. lsu game at beauregards. i think steve's arm must have given out on the 46th hole, because he let loose a wild throw (by mistake, of course!) that pegged me in the cheekbone and darkened my vision for a few seconds. now i've got an awesome bruise on my cheek. disc golf injuries rule.

after much playing in the sun, drinking, and screaming at televisions, we continued poker with a game at the LPP... it ended up being another 4:30am game and Zac, me, and Katy just had to give up, cash in, and go to bed. i actually wanted to keep playing and take Zac out, but had to be democratic about it.

today (sunday), all i've done is study, clean the apartment, do laundry, wash my car, and study more. even with these horribly mundane tasks filling up all of my daylight hours, it was suprisingly enjoyable thanks to another day of perfect weather. wish i could have had time to play at least 9 holes.

now its time to get ready to hit the ground with the wheels spinning on another long, tiring week. hope everybody makes it through the weekdays in tact. especially you R -- be strong and hold out until we can get that E for ya, buddy. :)

live music strikes again

the 99x upstart festival part deux was even better than i expected. the croud was probably the most courteous croud i've seen outside of a phish show (where they're too stoned to care anyway). the soundsystem was great, the bar was really cool, *all* of the bands were really good, and i met sara the shrubbery dealer. :)
